The Afterbeat is a six-piece Ska ensemble that has been together since late 2000. Mixing upbeat contemporary influences into the well known soulful blend of old school Two Tone Ska and earlier Punk music. The Afterbeat were named in Alternative Press (Aug 2003) magazine by Bucket Hingley (The Toasters/Moon Ska Records) as one of the top ten North American Ska acts performing presently. Things remain solid and they have just released a full length album (Personals) to follow up on the success of their first EP (Balls Out). With all of this, they continue to get their name out there and always have the time to still perform for friends and fans all over North America. They have performed with such greats as The Skatalites, Bad Brains, Alexisonfire, The Slackers, Moses Mayes, Mayor Mca, Bedouin Soundclash, 18 Visions, Tabaruk, The Planet Smashers, Mustard Plug, Catch 22 and Big D and The Kids Table.
