Built on the remnants of an old punk-rock band named Fresh N' Tasty, The Acousticolics were created several years ago in an appartment on Joffre Avenue in Quebec City. Initially, Ju Kella (guitar, vocals), Pol The Wanderer (guitar, vocals) and Max Dez (percussions) formed The Acousticolics. A demo was recorded in 2 sessions during the spring of 2004 and the boyz started to perform a little all over the place. Time passed and the demo was gaining popularity even though the guys were slowly realizing that there was something missing. The band was evolving and things had to change. Better song structure and more band members were the answer... And so were welcomed Râ Mastaflex (also known as Râ) and Kat (Ju and Pol's sister) in 2005. Pol and Râ now shared the bass and second guitar tasks, while Katty added her beautiful voice to the "ensemble". The following year, Larry was given the special task of adding drums to the very distinct sound of The Acousticolics. The new format was just what the band needed to redefine itself; they are viewed as pioneers in a new folk punk rock (or acoustic punk rock, or acoustic folk punk rock... whatever!!!) style. 3 years have passed since that very first demo was recorded. There have been sellout crowds and private shows. Now is the time for The Acousticolics to shine. The band has been working hard since August 2006 on their new project, a 12 song CD.
