The Academical Village people were formed in 1993 on the University of Virginia by a group of men frustrated by the lack of fun in national A Cappella. Since then AVP has mixed humor with A Cappella and gained national praise for their musical and mixing talents. Considered one of the nations premier all-male groups, AVP is known for is wild antics on stage and willingness to push the envelope both in song choice and lyrical alterations. They group has traveled nationwide and abroad, most recently touring the west coast and Hawaii while also singing at the White House and at numerous professional sporting events.
