There is more than one artist with this name, including: 1) The A's was an American power-pop/rock bandformed in Philadelphia in 1978; 2) The A's is an American acoustic folk duo formed in North Carolina in 2013 by Amelia Meath and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig. 1) The A's was a Philadelphia power-pop / new wave band that almost made it. After taking the local scene by storm in the late 70s, the A's quickly signed to Arista and released their eponymous debut LP. It made a splash locally but failed to break out nationally. A second LP followed, but it failed to make a blip on the charts. By the mid-1980s the A's disbanded and scattered. consisting of Richard Bush (lead vocals), Rick DiFonzo (guitar), Rocco Notte (keyboards), Terry Bortman (bass), and Michael Snyder (drums). Formed in Philadelphia in 1978, the band released two albums on Arista Records: The A's (1979) and A Woman's Got the Power (1981). 2) The A's is an American acoustic folk duo formed in North Carolina in 2013 by Amelia Meath (of Mountain Man and Sylvan Esso) and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig (of Mountain Man and Daughter of Swords).
