The 57th Dynasty was born in 1996 out of inspiration, collaboration and the need as artistes to unify in strength to achieve success and defeat the industry prejudice that prevents "reality" music made on the street from taking its rightful place in the market and enjoying the airplay and distribution so long denied it in the UK. The story began with paradise and charlie parker and the formation in the studio of a relationship that would inspire the creation of The Dynasty through example both in the studio and on the street. Charlie had been running a pre-production studio in brixton since the late 80s which had been a base for many local developing artistes. man would pass thru and try a ting - sometimes resulting in a dub plate being cut or a white label going out. The studio also served the reggae industry making dance/soundclash adverts and jingles for pirate stations. In mid '96 paradise passed thru with Big Love (fas fwd all star recording artiste) and that's where the Dynasty started. The remaining 6 members, who weren't all on the scene at that time came in piece by piece…….. dise was talking in a barber shop in norwood about what was going on and played a cassette to one of the barbers who claimed he could rhyme. The same barber (Stretch), his partner (Felony) and his partner's brother (Thunda) got an invite to pass thru the studio and all three man ended up on the b side to paradise's first release M.O.N.E.Y.
