Artist
Tha Villian came up on the streets of Chicago, the son of a murdered father, a single mother and the care taker of three younger brothers; tha Villian was forced to become his own man and the man of the house before he reached his teens. Welcome to tha Vill is more than a musical experience, it is a journey into the soul, passions and imagination of a man staying above his struggles through his gift of music. His life has been difficult, yet his music takes the audience on a ride of emotions leaving them feeling happy, hopeful and ready for more. "My inspiration comes from my life, past and current. I pay a lot of attention to my environment. Yeah I've had a hard past; becoming a man as a boy, taking care of my brothers and trying to keep my neck safe on the streets, but there have been a lot of good times in those hard times." His name (tha Villian), given to him as a youngster on the streets, comes from his knack of moving against the grain - "I'm a free man in a land not my own." Music came naturally to tha Villian. He began to play the drums as a five year old and by twelve he was producing music for his church. Through his teens tha Vill began producing for a number of Chicago based artists and then eventually began rapping as well. A workaholic, he has spent the last eight years creating and evolving in the studio. "I don't stop. I could put out an album every month. I'm living my life because I know it can be taken real quick Man, enjoy every moment and live for today.
