Tha Dogg Pound is an American hip hop duo consisting of West Coast rappers Kurupt and Daz Dillinger. The group was among the first acts to sign with Death Row Records in 1992. Both members began releasing solo albums in 1998 and left Death Row Records the following year amid the label’s internal issues after the death of Tupac Shakur in 1996. Kurupt went on to establish Antra Records, while Daz Dillinger and Soopafly founded D.P.G. Recordz. In 2002, a feud developed between the two when Kurupt re-signed with Death Row Records, which caused tension within the group. His planned album "Against the Grain" was repeatedly delayed during his time at the label and was eventually released in August 2005, after his departure. That same year, Daz Dillinger released the solo album "Tha Dogg Pound Gangsta LP." Later in 2005, Tha Dogg Pound reunited and released "Dillinger & Young Gotti II." In 2006, with Snoop Dogg as executive producer, the group released their official reunion album "Cali Iz Active."
