about

Emerging after the demise of Swedish hardcore trailblazers Refused, TEXT was founded by Kristofer Steen, David Sandström, Fredrik Bäckström and Jon F Brännström. All except Bäckström were members of Refused, but stylistically, they have little in common with their forebears. Their debut album, TEXT (1999), is a mix of spoken word, music of various styles, and ambient sound effects, blended into an ethereal, avant-garde sound. Apart from the three "Tableau" tracks (which are one piece, split up across the album), each track could be described as fitting into a different genre. A second TEXT album, Vital Signs, emerged in 2008 featuring a more mellow, song-driven sound, possibly due to the new, pared-back lineup of Bäckström and Brännström. http://textsite.tk http://www.myspace.com/textvitalsigns User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
