Telestar Danseorkester is a band from Bergen, Norway. It was established in 1974 by workers of the state-owned telecommunications provider Televerket as an octet, but have later evolved in to a full big bad with some twenty musicians. Today the band is under the instruction of Knut Starheim. Previous instructors have been Finn Nordal, Arne Hjortland, Gaute Storaas, Carsten Dyngeland, Øystein Søbstad and Aksel Fjæra. Telestar has played with numerous famous Norwegian artists, among them Nora Brockstedt, Anne Karin Kaasa, Ellen Nicolaysen, Jan Høiland and Eirik Røe.
