Matt FItzgerald ( aka Teflon78) was born in Pasadena CA, and currently resides in Santa Ana CA. As a teenager, Matt got into the punk/hardcore scene and later got into hip hop and jazz in his late teens. During college, the musical influences expanded to include electronic music genres and experimental noise. While growing up, Matt learned how to play the piano, and guitar but became attracted to the sound of the bass guitar. Over the years, Matt played bass in several bands from different genres of music. Around 1999, Matt began producing Jungle and Drum and Bass music. Later on the production became more hip hop centered with dabbles of glitch, IDM, jazz, soul, and even a little dubstep. Due to the fact that Matt did not want to stick to any one particular music genre for his music production, he chose the name Teflon due to its "nonstick" properties. The 78 was added to the name because that was the year that Matt was born. In addition to Teflon78, Matt also plays bass in the band The Owl In Daylight, who are currently doing pre-production for their debut full length record.
