Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers is an Australian rock band formed in Canberra in 2015 by vocalist Anna Ryan, guitarist Scarlett McKahey, bass guitarist Jaida Stephenson and drummer Neve van Boxsel. The band's debut extended play, Pretty Good for a Girl Band, released in 2022 through Domestic La La, won Best Independent Punk Album or EP at the 2023 AIR Awards. They released their debut studio album, I Love You, in October 2023. The band formed at a Year 10 sleepover after watching School of Rock, and turned heads in triple j’s Unearthed High competition. Performing alongside acts such as Polish Club, Northeast Party House, Alex Lahey, Press Club, Spiderbait, and WAAX, plus scoring a national support run with Slowly Slowly on their ‘Jellyfish’ tour, the band aimed at the forefront of Australia’s indie scene. The band has done a festival run including Groovin’ The Moo, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Falls Festival, Lost Paradise, Spilt Milk, and Stonefest, plus BIGSOUND. They released the single ‘Desk Chair’ ahead of the band's debut full-length album I Love You, released on 6 October 2023.
