about

As many other provincial projects Tears Of Janet from Penza is almost unknown to the Russian dark scene audience, to say nothing of the foreign one. But nevertheless the band has recorded many interesting materials. The early records are to a greater extent neoclassic. Gradually the band changed its sound to guitar indie and gothic rock, moving more and more to gothic rock under a considerable influence of shoegazers. Once at the background together with alto and cello, the aerial and shadowy guitar now has come to the foreground contrasting with the clear-cut bass-line and percussions. As a result the self-released album "Obrechyonnost" ("Fatality") came out in 2005. The album bears illusive resemblance to the releases on labels like "4AD" and "Beggars Banquet" User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
