StarKid Productions, also known as Team StarKid is a student-created theatre production troupe formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, founded in 2009 by theatre students at the University of Michigan. The troupe's initial most popular work, "A Very Potter Musical", was based on the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling. After most members graduated, the team moved to center its productions in Chicago, Illinois. During this residency in Chicago, they produced several shows including "Twisted" and "The Trail to Oregon." They subsequently moved to Los Angeles and kickstarted the multiple pieces in the Hatchetfield setting including "The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals" (2018), "Black Friday" (2019), "Nerdy Prudes Must Die" (2023) and a series of live video recordings in the "Nightmare Time" series during the Covid-19 pandemic.
