Founded 1969 Tasavallan Presidentti is one of the first and most influential progressive rock groups in Finland. Former members of Blues Section, Jukka Tolonen (guitar, piano) and Vesa Aaltonen (drums) started Tasavallan Presidentti with vocalist Frank Robson, bassist Måns Groundstroem and saxophonist/flutist Juhani Aaltonen. During its years the band has gone through various member replacements. Even though Tasavallan Presidentti never came as popular as Wigwam, it still remains somewhat active and tours every now and then. Tasavallan Presidentti is also known for its recording Magneettimiehen kuolema made with finnish songwriter Pekka Streng in 1970.
