Tara Leslye Kemp (born May 11, 1964 in Livermore, California) is an American pop and R&B singer. She is best known for releasing the single entitled, "Hold You Tight" in 1991. This single, written by singer-songwriter Will Hammond Jr., went gold and reached the number 3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart[. It was followed with yet another Top 10 single entilted, "Piece of My Heart," which reached number 7. Kemp's quick success was soon eclipsed after her third single, "Too Much," stalled at number 95. She also recorded a song called "Action Speaks Louder Than Words," which was featured on the soundtrack for the FOX TV series, Beverly Hills 90210. She also released "Come Correct" in 1994.
