Tara Breen, a highly talented multi-instrumentalist from Ruan Co. Clare, has achieved All-Ireland titles on fiddle in every age category over the years, culminating with the All-Ireland Senior Fiddle Title in 2012. Tara is also an All-Ireland winner on the flute and saxophone. Tara has won 11 solo All Ireland Fleadh titles and 10 group All Ireland Fleadh titles. In 2011, Tara was chosen to play at Dublin Castle for the Queen of England during her State visit to Ireland. Tara studied music and Irish in University College Cork and received an honour in BAMus and Bmus. Tara was selected by Donal Lunny for the T.V. series, ‘Lorg Lunny’, which culminated in the band Ciorras. Ciorras recorded their debut album entitles ‘Ciorras’ in 2010. From there went on to join the Galician piper Carlos Núñez who she still travels extensively with. In 2014, Tara recorded an album with Conor Moriarty and Stephen Rooney, titled The Trí Tones who were rewarded the title of Album of The Year from Tradconnect. In 2014, she joined six-time Grammy award winning band, The Chieftains for their North American tour, and currently plays with them at various venues both at home and abroad. Tara joined the legendary band, Stockton’s Wing in 2015. Stockton’s Wings live album is due to come out early this year. Tara joined Heartbeat of Home in 2018 and toured China and Germany for 6 months, finishing with a 6 week run in The West End.
