Tapsa Kuusniemi, the founder of Firelight:Studios, started to compose his own music in 1994. As a bear-like father figure, this cozy man has been most visibly presenting FLS's work and meeting new customers. Tapsa describes his personality as calm and peaceful, but sometimes hot-headed when irritated. Due to his scriptwriting studies, Tapsa likes to write, and loves to see all kinds of movies. In addition, Tapsa has found time to pay homage to the art of cooking as well. Tapsa names three composers, who have influenced his music the most. Hans Zimmer was the man whose massive orchestral pieces got Tapsa hooked on movie music in the first place. If you listen carefully, you might pick out some similarities between Zimmer's and Tapsa's music. Other Tapsa's all-time favourites are Trevor Jones and Jerry Goldsmith. Jones tends to create massive and captivating dark tunes, whereas Goldsmith's ability lies in linking music and picture with each other. The adventurous spirit of Goldsmith's music serves as an extra thrill. If one asks Tapsa what makes movie and media music special for him, he would say that it is the story telling.
