Indie rock group Tapes In Motion have just released their debut mini-album ‘Art and Irreligion’; a dynamic collection of 8 tracks that beautifully showcase the diverse soundscape of the duo’s musical stylings. ‘A Whisper’ — the EP’s lead single, is a synth pop inspired ode to the 1980s, exploring themes of how relationships can be made over the internet. The group also released ‘The End of It All’, ‘Turquoise Dream’, and ‘Time Won’t Tell’ leading up to the release of their EP. Best described as an ever-changing musical style overtop of abstract thought and emotional uncertainty, the synth-driven sound of Tapes In Motion captures a deep yearning for an adolescence that has since been outgrown. These lyrical themes and ideas are inspired by the duo’s own experiences growing up together, since singer/guitarist Tristan Konkle initially met drummer Colby McAllister in grade school. The duo initially took formation as Drift and Collide in 2018, until reforming as Tapes In Motion in 2022.
