Tanya Balakyrska is a vocalist and composer, originated from Ukraine and residing in Russia. Besides, Tetyana is a highly acclaimed music journalist, working for Jazz.Ru, the only Russian jazz magazine (as an deputy chief editor), for Zvuki.Ru, the hugest music webzine in Russia (as a contributor). Also, Tanya is the head of the Ukrainian jazz portal — UAjazz.Com. However, music is her biggest love. Tanya’s music style is quite difficult to distinguish. Indie, minimalism, some bits of jazz, pop, lounge and sympho-fusion are mixed in it, depending on a concrete lineup chosen. All music is composed by Tanya; most lyrics are written by a Canadian vocalist, poet and composer Sienna Dahlen, a friend of Tanya’s, but nowadays there are poems by E.E.Cummings and Tanya’s own used as a basis of the songs as well.
