"Tansu picked up his instrument at the age of 14. As a totally self-taught player; he sharpened his skills by playing with many local bands throughout his teen years. Although he quit playing for about 2 years while majoring in political science, it didn't take long for him to realize that he has the heart of an artist so he decided to pursue music as a career. At the end of 2009, Tansu moved from his homeland Turkey to USA to follow his dreams in music and started a new life. After a long period of struggle and hard times, he eventually emerged as a sought after bassist in Houston and shared the stage with some of the best musicians in town during his 2 years there. On November 2011, Tansu moved to Los Angeles where he currently performs at the jazz clubs in town with his quartet.
