Artist
Tamás Daróczi (born 1954 in Árpástó, Romania) is a Hungarian opera tenor. He graduated from the College of Music in Cluj-Napoca in 1980 with a degree in opera. In the same year, he made his debut at the Cluj-Napoca Opera House as Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly . He has been singing at the Hungarian State Opera since 1989 and a member of the Vienna Staatsoper since 1991. In 1983 he won an award at the Puccini International Singing Competition in Lucca and in 1986 at the Madame Butterfly Competition . He has performed as a guest at many opera houses in Europe. He was a regular guest at the Komische Oper Berlin where he sang the role of Prince of Mantua in Rigoletto, directed by Harry Kupfer.
