Artist
Takuhiro Murayama was born in Tokyo. He came to Germany at the age of 18 and studied piano in the following years at the music academies in Munich, Essen and Karlsruhe with Gerhard Oppitz, Boris Bloch and Kalle Randalu. In addition, he regularly took part in master classes with renowned artists such as Elisabeth Leonskaja, Leonard Hokanson, Bruno Canino and Maria Tipo. In 1994, Takuhiro Murayama won the A. M. A. Calabria International Piano Competition in Italy. In 1997, another important award for his skills followed with third prize at the International Schubert Competition in Dortmund. Numerous concert activities as a solo pianist, but also in Chamber music have taken him to many different stages at home and abroad, including: to Japan and the USA. Takuhiro Murayama has been a lecturer at the Karlsruhe University of Music since 2000 and has been teaching piano and music theory at the Baden Conservatory since 2004.
