Bursting forth from the heart of the dying star in which they were birthed, Tradwife emerge as the latest addition to Sheffield’s notorious underground circuit. Founded amidst the naive excitement of a drunken freshers week, the six-piece have slowly but surely grown in size like a pool of honey spilt on the kitchen floor, drawing on its members’ diverse range of musical backgrounds in order to forge their arrogantly self-described ‘post-brexit flamenco doom-punk’. Sustained by Sheffield’s lively student-led music scene, a patient creative gestation period finally gave way to two sell out shows at the fabled Sidney and Matilda earlier this year, followed by a hotly anticipated Mother’s Day headline gig - parental affections coalescing into a womb of blonde mulletry and Lebanese cuisine.
