A new generation of Punk is rising, infused by what originally made Punk Rock great--raw power, combined with a socially conscious worldview. THE NERV best exemplifies this aesthetic with their driving beats and brutal, in your face instrumentation, combined with provocative lyrical content. Their songs are catchy, yet intense, giving them more impact. THE NERV began in early 2006, but have only recently morphed into their recent incarnation with original members CHRISTOPHER CAMPBELL (guitar) and vocalist NIS ANTHROPE joined by bassist IAN LARKIN and new addition Andy V. Galeon (drums). The latter two have solidified the line up and coincidentally, the band has hit its stride professionally, supporting well-known acts as diverse as D.R.I., Agent Orange and THE TUBES and performing on big stages like the 35th Annual HAIGHT ST. FAIR. The band also has generated its own showcases, such as renting a flatbed truck to play before the crowd in solidarity with OCCUPY OAKLAND, as well as supporting the community by playing the BALBOA SKATEPARK GRAND OPENING. It's that sort of rebellious spirit, combined with their unique sound and reckless abandon onstage, that sets this act apart.
