about

The ASBO Kid, aka James Atkin of EMF & BENTLY RHYTHM ACE - responsible for one of the best known tracks of the 90’s Unbelievable (a USA number one single, from a platinum selling album). The ASBO Kid began life in 2005 & was formed through the merging of two existing talents: James Atkin & Pilly Bob, on the darker side of electronic music - their own brand of ‘car alarm techno’. There influences go back to old school rave & touch on minimal electro. The pair have managed to keep out of trouble long enough, to create some classic tracks. They released THE ASBO DEATH CULT SESSIONS (Sept 2007 on White Label Music). ‘drive it like you stole it//burn it like you smoke it’ ‘people round here say don’t argue//people round here think we’re too loud// people round here gonna call the council//people round here gonna call the police.’ Even with his reputation as a hit song writer with EMF, most record companies wouldn’t touch them, except for W.L.M. that is. His past has made people very wary of him. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
