Sybil Gage is an award winning Jazz and Blues singer/songwriter who has been compared to Eartha Kitt, Dinah Washington, Pearl Bailey, Corinne Bailey-Rae, Laura Nyro, and Janis Joplin. Her latest CD “NOLA Calling” reached #1 on the UVUMI internet Blues charts in 2010, stayed there for 2 months and still bounces around in the top 25. “NOLA Calling” was also nominated for Best Self Produced CD by the International Blues Challenge of Memphis 2011. Space Coast Living Magazine named Sybil Gage ”Best Musician in Brevard County” in 2008, and Sybil has a devoted and growing international following that label’s themselves as “Sybilized.” Sybil’s love for her hometown of New Orleans is evident in every part of her performance and hats and boa’s are a big part of her New Orlean’s style. Sybil has been invited to perform at the New Smyrna Beach Jazz Festival 4 times and has performed for NBA great Vince Carter. In 2010 Sybil did a performance with Vibraphonist Warren Chiasson at the UN for the Canadian delegation, and was special guest with the Five Points Band at The Delancey for a Max’s Kansas City Reunion. Sybil has been an opening act for John Waite and Zydeco Queen Rosie Ledet and is the recipient of 3 ASCAP awards for Excellence in Performance and Songwriting, 2008-2010. Currently Sybil performs at the best Jazz and Blues spots in Florida and NYC; including weekly packed-house performances at Heidi’s Jazz Club in Cocoa, FL, where she has been in residence since 2009.
