Indian Spiritual Realizer, teacher, transmitter and chanter. Passed in 1982. Devotee of the great Bhagavan Nityananda of Ganeshpuri. The institution that has developed around his successors lineage is called "Syda" - an acronym for the "Siddha Yoga" general school of yogic practice and teachings. Swami Muktananda's ashram is known for its chanting and adaptation of ancient sacred texts and chants, numerous good recordings of which exist. He oversaw/authored a classic text upon sacred chant and intonation/invocation, called "The Nectar Of Chanting".
