This little-known Swedish band (its name translated to English is the Swedish Hot Quintet) was closely modeled after the Quintet of the Hot Club of France. With violinist Emil Iwring and guitarists Sven Stiberg (single-string) and Folke Eriskberg (chordal) taking solos, this group was one of the hottest in existence during 1939-1941. However, its recordings rarely circulated outside of Sweden and, until the issue of a 1993 Dragon CD, it was one of the great unknown bands in jazz history.
