Sutra sonic are Harvinder Nagi and Sanjiv Sharma. Harv was born in East Africa of Sikh parentage. Suni was born in England of Hindu parentage. Growing up in Hounslow, UK during the 1980's, Harv and Suni watched unhealthy amounts of Bollywood films, getting influences from R.D. Burman and Laxmikant-Pyarelal, fascinated with the funk, latin, jazz, disco musical scores. They have both been avid collectors of Bollywood soundtracks for the last 15 years. They have one of the biggest collections around, with over 30,000 records. Their musical heroes/heroines include Asha Bhosle, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. Their musical influences are not restricted to Bollywood - as they collectors of jazz-fusion, Latin, funk and hip hop vinyl.
