Susanna is a singer who loves to evoke emotion and create atmosphere for her audience. She has a love for various musical styles which she explores in her songwriting. Her songs are a combination of latin, pop, rock, film, folk and classical music, and her vocal style and musical interests are reflective of her heritage and upbringing. Born to concert pianist and Colombian born mother, Susanna was surrounded by music from an early age. As a child she studied flute and piano, however it was her teenage years that sparked her love for singing and composing. She later studied contemporary voice at the Queensland University of Technology completing a Bachelor of music and then continued her studies in jazz voice at the Conservatorium of music with a post- graduate diploma in vocal pedagogy. Throughout her career Susanna has performed in various duos, bands and solo acts around Brisbane, interstate and overseas. She has co-written for short films and sound installations and has to date recorded three demo albums including her latest EP “Somewhere in Between” (2008). Currently she sings with her jazz trio “Mood Indigo” and performs her original music regularly around Brisbane. She runs her own private teaching studio and is a vocal teacher for the young conservatory at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
