Supercilious is a french electronica artist who released "Next Time We go Sublime" in november 2004, singnificant debut album which helped establish this project as an act to follow. Despite the title of French-based electronic Supercilious's debut album, the songs are in fact quite sublime. Alexandre Vaudin, the man behind the control panel of this electronic noise pop project, stopped playing in bands and decided to go it alone in his home studio. It's worked for him, because his debut is a real charmer. Rich in breakbeats, deep bass, hypnotic rhythms and soft female vocals, it is a nice collection of dreamy electronic songs. Especially prominent is the experimental percussion,with constant change and a variety of bleeps and clicks that flow with the music instead of interfering with it. Another of the many strong points is the diversity that's present. Each song is completely unique. It is definitely hard to pick favorites. Many of the songs grab you right away, and even those that may not have an impact at the beginning, suddenly change in the middle and quickly draw you in. This album on a whole is quite flawless.
