If any adjective can easily describe SuperF111’s Richard Foster it’s ‘persistent’. Richard was born in Nottingham, England to working class parents who migrated to Australia and lived in many different parts of Victoria, Australia. He was one of four children and had to constantly compete for attention. His family moved around a lot so he became fiercely independent at an early age. He was first exposed to some of the most influencial rock/metal bands of the 70’s, the likes of KISS, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin and Van Halen. As a result, his first singing experience was as lead singer in an Iron Maiden tribute band! Not an easy task by anyone’s standards but he quickly fell in love with music and being in front of an audience. Richard spent a number of years earning his stripes as a formidable frontman to the likes of The Shining, Warcraft, One and Blue Granite before setting out on his own personal journey writing original songs about his experiences. It’s not so easy to put SuperF111 into a pigeon hole and after listening to only a half dozen songs it’s easy to identify a range of influences from the raw energy of the Foo Fighters, the grunge guitar sounds of Greenday, the melodic vocal tones of U2 and the diversity of Queen or more recently, Linkin Park. “After all the bands I grew up with I don’t think my music sounds like any one of them.
