SUPER SOUL SONICS was formed in 1997, by 川瀬昌知 (Masatomo Kawase, a.k.a. JAKE, ex.GUNIW TOOLS) and 岸野義樹 (Yoshiki Kishino). During its five years of activity, the band released four albums: SUPER SOUL SONICS (1998) フプ (1999) S.U.N. (2001) GALACTICA (2002) After the release of its final album, SUPER SOUL SONICS announced a pause in activity. Both artists are currently focused on their solo work. cloudchair is the solo unit of Masatomo Kawase. Yoshiki Kishino (now 堀田義樹, Yoshiki Horita) performs as iMaginations.
