SUN is a trio made up of Dario Sulis (voice and percussion), Alessandro Palacino (reeds and keyboards) and Diego Spitaleri (piano and keyboards). The group was formed in 1995 and in 1997 came out with its debut album “Ethnicity”, produced by Giungla Records and distributed by R.T.I. The album was later reissued by the label “Teatro del Sole”. The group’s music can best be defined as ‘new age’ with a distinctive Mediterranean flavour, generously seasoned with overtones from the ambient, ethnic and jazz genres. It is a music which seeks to find its balance by utilizing modern musical trends to create its own unique sound dimension. One fundamental aspect of the group’s musical exploration is the integration of vocals and vocal effects, both traditional and modern, in an instrumental musical context.
