Sunrose is an American trio born out of the heat and friction of Los Angeles. Blending brooding textures with sharp rhythmic drive, they’ve carved out a raw, urgent sound that draws from the darker corners of rock, punk, and modern psych. Formed during the chaos of 2020, Jaxon Rose (vocals/guitar), Tripp Bowers (bass), and Jax Kemp (drums) simmer with tension and strike with precision, echoing influences from bands like Interpol, Protomartyr, and early The Horrors, while remaining defiantly original. On stage, Sunrose is explosive. From storming sets at Whisky a Go Go during a blackout to captivating crowds at Stubb’s in Austin and Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco, the band’s live shows are immersive and aggressive—where sweat, volume, and catharsis reign. With a growing cult following, festival appearances (including Austin City Limits), and a string of sharp, post-punk-driven singles in 2025, Sunrose continues to evolve. Bleak but beautiful.
