SUKOON is a South-Asian rock band based in Mississauga (a city near Toronto). Initially formed in Pakistan, co-founder Irfan Pasha (Guitars/Backing Vocals) brought Sukoon to Canada when he moved to Toronto in 2005. Comprising of Irfan, his schoolmate Sheryar Amin (Guitars), acquaintance Aman Gulati (Drummer), and a couple of friends, the band played a few gigs, before they hit a dead-end due to members quitting and the absence of shows in the area. In late 2006, Dibesh Saha (Vocals) joined the band, and the promise of a new line-up and upcoming shows seemed like the light at the end of the tunnel. However, 2007 came around, and Sukoon were still on the lookout for a permanent bassist, and yet to make their comeback into the scene. In February 2007, Yasser Qureshi (Bassist), a schoolmate of Irfan and Shery's got introduced to the band. The last piece of the puzzle was in place and, armed with fresh-faces and new material, Sukoon was ready to roll. Sukoon played their comeback show on April 7th, 2007 at the Kilt Pub in Scarborough alongside veteran acts like Zzen and Carma. Since then, Sukoon has come a long way, playing gigs all across the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). The highlight of the journey till date has been opening for Junoon and Noori at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga on August 17th, 2007. On 15th May, 2007 the band released their first single (as independent artists) D.O.A (Dead On Arrival). Currently the band is working on 2 new singles - Bane and the self-titled
