Boston-based band Suffer The Destroyer fuse the passion and heart of the New England hardcore tradition with the grit and fury of heavy metal into a sound that is truly crushing. Drawing influence for a number of varied metal and hardcore acts, the quintet deliver a unique brand of earth-rattling music that is all passion and no pretense. Formed in the summer of 2010 when members studying at Emerson College and Northeastern University met in Boston, the group worked hard to write and record a small back-to-basics DIY demo. Writing and recording in late 2010, the band finally saw completion with the addition of vocalist Jason in late December. Soon after the group began playing live, turning heads with their energetic performances, and sharing the stage with acts including Shai Hulud, Close Your Eyes, Counterparts and Monsters. In spring of 2011 the group released their debut EP, "The Silent Majority," a six track EP exploring topics including philosophical musings, universal human struggles, and the possibility of extraterrestrial intelligence. With a lineup eager to make a splash in the local metal and hardcore scene, Suffer The Destroyer are poised to strike in 2011. The band are currently playing shows frequently in New England, and plan to compose a follow up to "The Silent Majority" later this year.
