Style (The Band) was a music duo active from 2005-2008. Their musical styles ranged from instrumental world music, to techno, rap, and acoustic rock. Most of their music was created using a mix of loops, software instruments, and their own live recordings. Many elements of songs were improvised during recording. Lineup Jeff Nurenberg (as Steve Stylson): Guitars, Vocals, Software Instruments, Technical Stuff Dan Podjun (as Kyle Blagelsby): Vocals, Jokes, Time Wasting History Style (The Band) was started when, at one of Jeff's solo acoustic shows, Dan said "Hey, let me get on stage with you. You can be Steve and I'll be Kyle. Together we're Style." Somehow it stuck. Style recorded their first album, Style's Greatest Hits Volume 2: Being A Musician Is Tough, in the summer of 2005. The album was essentially a one-take improv session. The only song written before pressing record was "Peter Jennings", a tribute to the late news icon. The following winter, while Jeff was away at college, Dan came to visit Jeff for his birthday. While there, Style attempted to record a live album, featuring a few songs off Being a Musician Is Tough, and many new improvisational songs. They did not rehearse prior to performing. Upon completion of the recording it was found that Jeff's guitar was never plugged into the soundboard.
