The thing about rock & roll music is that it comes from your guts. It is the single, transient, bi-product of the human experience, and it has the power to move people in wild ways. For most, it is difficult to find the words to truly describe what it feels like to live. But, every so often there comes a band that simply knows how to speak to the human condition and hands it to the world so hard that you can’t help but feel something real. Right now, that band is rising up through the ranks and they are Stuck On Planet Earth. Just like that moment of release right after you’ve filled your lungs with the coolest breathe of fresh air, their songs are the kind that reach inside your chest, rip out your heart, and let it beat on recklessly while they hold it in their hands. Stuck On Planet Earth was formed in early 2007 out of a desire to connect with a new generation of young people and bring a little fire back to rock & roll. As a means of doing just that, the band created “The Bak Pack Tour” which was comprised of a series of guerilla style acoustic performances set up in the parking lots of high schools across the province of Ontario. The element of surprise really engaged high school audiences and thoroughly pissed off the establishment. The tours were documented on film and turned into Youtube webisodes capturing both the band’s perspective as well as their fans.
