Stryk9 is a New Wave / Synthpop band that began in San Francisco, California. It was established in 2004 by leading keyboardist and composer Andrew Parke along with bassist Anthony Duchene (for a brief period). It later expanded circa 2006 to include First Amendment's Alex Rowson, Abhay Singh, and Mark Nelson as additional lyricists, vocalists, and musicians. The classic rig sports a Roland Juno-D, a Korg MS-2000, an Alesis Ion, a Roland JP-8000, and a Boss DR-880. The new rig includes the instruments contained within Native Instruments Kore 2 and Komplete 5, and Apple's Logic Studio (using the Edirol PC-50 MIDI keyboard). Stryk9 has been operating primarily in Manhattan following its departure from San Francisco in the fall of 2008. In concerts, Stryk9 usually takes the name of either First Amendment or Dirty Clergy, and Andrew Parke and Abhay Singh are currently the two primary members. Andrew Parke is also a solo artist, referred to simply as "Parke." Stryk9's debut album "Romanthesis" originally contained the nine tracks of Parke's debut album–"The Seventh Avenue Discotheque"–to which those original Stryk9 tracks were transferred upon the initiation of the solo venture. The Stryk9 album proper, retitled "Dark Hearts," now contains rearranged First Amendment and Dirty Clergy songs, as well as original material written by Andrew Parke. Both albums are currently works-in-progress, though they are nearing completion. UPDATE: The first full-length demo is now available for str
