A rock band called Street Rovers’ Union saw its daylight in the fall 2005, when guitarist Karre and drummer Reko ended up in the same rehearsal room. Little bit later, the bassist Räpö and Timppa who plays keyboards, were invited in the same jamming sessions. After a while they started to make own songs and realized that they had a band, but not a name or a singer yet. The name “Street Rovers’ Union” originates from a fact that Karre, Räpö and Reko had spent their childhood growing up on a same street in Savonlinna. The street happens to be legendary Kullervonkatu, where they have their training place nowadays. The boys started their first demo-recordings in late fall 2005 but they didn’t have a singer in the band. First and only choice for that job would be Teuvo, who had played in same projects with Karre and Timppa before. After a while the very first “buzzing rehearsal demo” was ready. They continued playing new songs, but it took too much time, energy and efforts because Teuvo lived nearly 350 km away in Helsinki, Räpö moved to Mikkeli after his studies and Reko started his military service in January 2006. For upcoming gigs they started to look for a secondary drummer. That man would be Antti, who later became the official drummer for Street Rovers’ Union. The band played couple of gigs in spring 2006 and people seemed to like it, so it really inspired boys to continue.
