Inspired by William Gibson, James Cagney and the racket that bands like Ride, The Verve and Campag Velocet had been kicking out - Straylight Interstate formed in 2003 and over the next two years put out 2 EP's - We Got Soul and The Parachute Junkie. After building up a decent local following and a reputation as a quality live act, gigs soon followed at prestigious London venues such as The Astoria, 100 Club, Water Rats and Camden Barfly venues.
