about

Buddy Taccolini (born April 4, 1988) is a musician from Marquette, Michigan who performs his singer-songwriter/indie-folk music under his stage name, Strategically Placed Mirrors. Buddy’s softer, prettier songs have been compared to the likes of Iron & Wine and Elliott Smith, while his more fun, upbeat tunes are reminiscent of Dashboard Confessional and Jason Mraz. Buddy’s songs are known for their constant use of symbolism and metaphor and for their associability. His personal, hazy delivery makes it feel as if he’s performing his songs while sitting right next to the listener. Strategically Placed Mirrors has provided entertainment for a number of places throughout Michigan and has gained quite a large following of college-aged listeners, ranging from the 17-year-old “young loves” to the mid-30’s “questioning loves.” The Strategically Placed Mirrors page on Last.fm gained over 200 listeners and over 1,000 plays within its first six months on the site. The Gap, Inc. hired him to play in one of their stores for their 40th anniversary celebration in 2009. Buddy has also worked with Phil Barry (guitarist for Rachael Yamagata) since 2006. In late 2010, Buddy clenched the 1st place spot for his live performance in SongFest (a Mid-Michigan song competition) with one of his original songs.
