Strange Red Earth have been together for over 10 years. In that time, they have made 6 albums and 2 EPs of startlingly original music. Their sound is about dynamics atmosphere and contrast - ‘from a whisper to a scream really does describe it well. People seem to hear completely different influences in it according to what is in their own record collection. Not surprising, given its acoustic, electric, electronic nature. The band themselves prefer to avoid being nailed into any particular genre, but would like people to be free to interpret Strange Red Earth’s sound as they will. Strange Red Earth are now a five-piece after the departure of Roj. The new line up for 2009 is; Sir James Vox: Vocals, Rupert: Guitar, Lord Zarquon: Keyboards, Jon Blackstone: Bass and Sleyer: Drums.
