DiSchord ArT LOud IndePendent DancE DisJunct MElodramatic SynCopated MathemaTics Stop Eject have established themselves as a band considered high up on a list of dark, brooding bands from their adopted city of Nottingham, the culmination of various interests and ideas formulated into a noise known as music. Having formed in 2007, early success led to time out of the mainstream, and so despite performances on public plazas, a darker and more unconventional sound was pursued. A collection of songs was recorded at a similar time, but no music of the recorded type saw the light of day. 2008’s self-released EP Cargo Cult Science accompanied a number of shows, including Club Fandango with The Voom Blooms, and consisted mostly of support slots with bands such as Elle Milano, Prinzhorn Dance School, Ipso Facto and Everything Everything. The band learned a great deal from their early accomplishments and through the experience of appearing with numerous touring acts, along with a line-up change, and directed their efforts into the development of their sound. Stop Eject are proud of the fact they’re trying to do something a little different, if not challenging at times. Cargo Cult Science was an exercise of ‘DIY’ self-promotion, a well-received documentation by a band driven to affirm their unique brand. Right now a single release is imminent, after many enjoyable hours spent in the recording studio. The band has plans for the recording of an album in the coming year
