The Stone Shades is a sixties pop/ freakbeat band from Moscow, Russia. Founded in 2001 by former members of another popular Moscow outfit - the Dans Ramblers- Alexander Vassiliev (vocals) and Alexey Tchernyayev (guitar), the Stone Shades have progressed from a typical Rolling Stones tribute group (which is quite natural, since both aforementioned musicians resemble much Mick Jagger and Brian Jones respectively) to a more bizarre sound featuring dynamic cover versions of other peoples compositions as well as some original songs (Shes Going Away, Bath Song , etc.). One of the originals, High Flyin Baby , is a popular dance number in Moscow venues and has been rated No.1 song from a recent compilation Rocknroll Around Kremlin (July, 2006) which also includes originals performed by 15 other Moscow artists.
