Sean McCarthy is a singer/songwriter/musician based in the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia. The recordings on this profile are from various sources, including demos that featured other musicians, but the “Live@Sols 30Oct06” desk-recording features McCarthy (rhythm guitar, vocals), Sean Madden (lead guitar), and Peter Gleeson (bass guitar, backing vocals). Performing at the Lewisham Hotel, Sol’s Darlinghurst, the Manly Vale RSL club, Parramatta’s Albion Hotel, and other venues around Sydney, the band had no drummer during this period. Gigs at Sol’s and the Lewisham featured (unknown) guest drummers from other bands on the bill. They followed Gleeson’s lead with amazing results. Madden was replaced by Ray Falzon late in 2006 and Gleeson left that December due to mental health issues. By February 2009, McCarthy and Falzon had been joined by Chris Wilson (bass) and Billy Speed (drums). McCarthy now performs under the “Oz Rock” monicker at venues around New South Wales with videos available on YouTube.
