Stiggy Pop's new album Strawberry Moon hopes to take you back to the magic of summer nights. The Wisconsin duo's most ambitious project yet blends a nostalgic, psychedelic sonic direction with lyrics that reflect on how quickly summer flies by. Stowe (guitar) and Drew (keys/production) handle everything themselves, from writing and recording to promotion and visuals. What started as an instrumental rock project has grown into something more dreamy and atmospheric, perfect for sunset drives or stargazing. Their song Comets shows their creativity best so far, chopping and flipping a sample from their own track Twisted Elixir (from 2023's Flavors - EP) into an upbeat indie pop hit. This kind of approach, mixed with inspiration drawn from video game soundtracks and electronic music, gives them a unique flavor within the indie world and a sound that's undeniably Stiggy. Stowe’s guitar playing is inspired by the expressive style of Steve Vai, while his drive to make music comes from Twenty One Pilots. Stiggy Pop's overall sound draws from Crumb, Mac DeMarco, and fellow Wisconsin band Slow Pulp. Stowe's main passion is playing live shows around the tri-state area, with dreams of going on tour. Drew wishes to keep experimenting and creating art that he enjoys. Together, they push their sound forward while making music that aims to turn the simpler things into something special, hoping that others will tune in along the way.
