Steven Nottley is a 21 year old piano composer from Brighton, UK. His style is said to be that of Inspiratonal New-Age Classical, taking listeners into a state where they can escape from the world and peacefully reflect on life. Born in Basingstoke in 1987 he moved to a small hamlet in rural Dorset at the age of 6. At 19 he went to Sussex University in Brighton to study for a BSc in Molecular Medicine in which he is currently in his final year. He'll be heading to Cambridge University in the autumn of 2009. Steven's influences come mainly from his friends and he creates pieces of music from spontaneous improvisation drawn on the experiences of those around him. His pieces are generally written for various friends as a reflection of their lives at the moment of composition. Steven is a self taught pianist since the age of 5 and is inspired by the works of Ludovico Einaudi, Michael Nyman, Sigur Ros, Elissa Franceschi and Not Made In China.
