Steve Wilson is an American alto saxophonist. He has contributed to more than 100 recordings, including 7 albums as a leader. He has worked with Chick Corea, Michael Brecker, Joe Henderson, Bill Bruford, among many others. He is educated at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, where he studied with Jimmy and Percy Heath, John Hendricks, Frank Foster and Ellis Marsalis. He joined the sextet Out of the Blue in 1986. From 1998-2001 he was a member of Chick Corea's Grammy winning sextet "Origin". Currently Wilson is touring with his Steve Wilson Quartet. He is also performing with drummer Lewis Nash, as well as touring with Maria Schneider's Jazz Orchestra.
